Antoinette Maurer
Antoinette Lavonne (Toni) Maurer passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on September 24, 2013. Those who knew her would say that her heart gave out prematurely due to the enormous amount of love and kindness she gave to others.
Toni was born to Patricia and Stan Kink in Bellingham, Washington on February 6, 1957. She was a 1975 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. Following high school she received her Medical Assistant Certificate and worked in that field. In 1982 she married Steven Maurer and was blessed with two daughters. After realizing her love for children she quickly became involved in Early Childhood Education, where she spent the next 20 years teaching in the Kent and Seattle schools.
Toni was a devoted mother, trusted friend, patient mentor, and beloved teacher. She found her passion and dedicated her life to teaching children. Her nurturing personality, quick wit and compassion were the gifts she brought to the many lives she touched as Teacher Toni. She will be remembered for her kind heart, keen sense of humor, willingness to help others in need, and her uncanny ability to make people feel special and cared for. Her giving, gentle soul will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Toni was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pat and Stan Kink, and her sister Jackie. She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Barnhill (Chris), Jenny Maurer, her loving sister Szerena Clarke, niece Ciara, nephew Michael, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday October 19 at 1-3 pm at the Eagles Club in Renton, WA.
