The family of Alan Owen Hoeper of Kent, Washington is saddened to announce his peaceful passing on March 29, 2021 at the age of 86 at Franciscan Hospice House in Tacoma, WA.
Alan will be remembered by his wife of almost 55 years, Pat; daughter Alanna (Matt) Eilers and grandchildren Tavia and Aaron. He is also survived by his brother Gerald (Debbie) Hoeper, and his sisters-in-law Yolanda Hoeper, Noreen Hoeper and Diane Hoeper, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by Hermie, his beloved African Gray parrot.
Alan was born to Fred and Margaret Hoeper in Chicago, Illinois on February 24, 1935. His parents preceded him in death along with his brothers Paul Hoeper, Fred Hoeper and John Hoeper. He graduated from Medford High School (WI) in 1953. He served in the Army and attended Clover Park Technical College. Alan met Pat in Huntsville, AL and the couple married in 1966.
Alan began working for the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA; Followed by moves to Santa Maria, CA, Huntsville, AL, Bay St. Louis, MS and finally back to Seattle in 1968. Alan retired from Boeing in 1992.
Over the years Alan enjoyed bowling (up until the age of 80), playing golf, hunting, cutting the lawn with his riding lawnmower, watching TV sports and reading. He was a dedicated member of Kent United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir.
