No suspects in Auburn death of teen killed in shooting at residence

Giovanni Brown, 15, died on July 18 as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

A 15-year-old boy died in unincorporated King County on July 18 as a result of a shooting.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, 15-year-old Giovanni Brown died on July 18 as a result of multiple gunshot wounds suffered at a residence in Auburn, outside the city borders. The medical examiner’s office identified Brown’s death as a homicide.

According to an email from Brandyn Hull, communications manager for the King County Sheriff’s Office, as of July 23, law enforcement have no suspects, have made no arrests, and have identified no motive for the shooting.

The King County Sheriff’s Office 911 communications center received a 911 call from the location of the 28700 block of 34th Avenue South at approximately 6:32 p.m. July 18 regarding the sound of gunshots heard.

Upon the arrival of responding deputies, law enforcement discovered the boy lying on the ground. The deputies provided CPR and first aid to the boy until the arrival of fire department personnel, who administered lifesaving measures.

Unable to revive the boy, first responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrived afterward to begin investigation into the incident, identified as a homicide. With the scene blocked, investigators collected evidence for several hours, with the medical examiner’s office arriving to take custody of the deceased boy, who was not identified at the time, nor was an age determined for him.
