It remains a tight race between Democrat Shukri Olow and Republican Barry Knowles to advance along with Democrat Chris Stearns for the 47th Legislative District House Position 2 seat.
Stearns an Auburn City Council member, won the Aug. 2 primary to advance to the Nov. 8 general election but it’s still too close to call between Olow and Knowles. The two candidates with the most votes advance to November.
Olow has 19.57% (5,843 votes) and Knowles has 17.47% (5,215 votes), a difference of only 140 votes, according to results released Aug. 8 by King County Elections.
Stearns has 33.43% (9,980 votes) to clinch a spot on the November ballot.
Republicans Ted Cooke at 15.17% (4,529 votes) and Carmen Goers at 14.28% (4,262 votes) remain several hundred votes behind Olow and Knowles.
King County Elections will release results on weekdays until certifying the results on Aug. 16.
