March 26
Armed robbery: 12:33 p.m., officers responded to an incident initially reported as a hit-and-run at Meeker Street Bar and Grill, 1700 W. Meeker St. Subsequent interviews revealed a robbery with a victim accosted by an unknown individual demanding possession at knifepoint. The situation escalated with a vehicular collision, culminating in the suspect’s apprehension following a foot chase.
March 27
7-Eleven robbery: 4:28 a.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery at 7-Eleven, 511 Central Ave. S. Initially
stemming from a shoplifting incident, the situation escalated into an armed robbery when the suspect returned, brandishing a knife, and threatening a male individual. An officer’s critical assistance in translating
Punjabi with an employee significantly expedited the gathering of probable cause, leading to the suspect’s swift apprehension near 200 E. Gowe St., despite the suspect’s attempt to flee across railroad tracks.
Attempted burglary: 11:16 p.m., officers responded to a burglary at the former LA Fitness, 520 Washington Ave. S. An employee reported that at least one suspect had forcibly entered the building through a broken door. Despite uncertainties about the number of suspects inside, officers swiftly evacuated the employee, secured the expansive premises, and executed a systematic search, ultimately finding no individuals on site. Their thorough efforts were notable given the property’s status as abandoned and for sale.
March 29
Order violation: Officers responded to a felony order violation involving an ex-wife’s unit at Ventana Apartments, 329 Ridgeview Dr. The suspect barricaded himself inside but surrendered peacefully after some time, requiring the officers’ patience and professionalism.
Robbery: 3:40 a.m., patrol units intervened in a robbery at 14400 SE 263rd St. The victim’s encounter, originating from a Tinder interaction a mere hour prior, escalated into a violent robbery involving a handgun, highlighting the dangers of such online connections.
School lockdown: An incident involving a threatening individual occurred at Horizon Elementary, 27641 144th Ave. SE, prompting a lockdown. The individual parent was later arrested and booked.
Domestic incident: Officers investigated a domestic incident at Arbor Chase Apartments, 1615 W. Smith St., coordinating with other agencies to document the assaults and apprehend the armed suspect, who was subsequently booked on felony charges.
March 30
Mental health incident: An officer demonstrated professionalism and tact in addressing a water leak complaint at Berkley Heights Apartments, 22804 90th Way S., successfully managing a delicate situation involving a resident with mental health challenges.
March 31
Verbal domestic: An officer conducted a thorough investigation into a verbal domestic incident at the Sunset Motel, 25006 Pacific Highway S., leading to the arrest of the male suspect based on evidence of prior physical assaults provided by the female reporting party.
April 1
Firearm at high school: 1:40 p.m., officers responded to Kent-Meridian High School, 10020 SE 256th St., regarding a student allegedly in possession of a firearm on school grounds. The school was placed on lockdown, and in collaboration with school security officers, the student was found and had a firearm in his backpack.
April 2
Armed robbery: 11:14 a.m., officers responded to Wingstop, 300 Ramsay Way at Kent Station, for an armed robbery. A suspect stole food intended for a delivery driver and brandished a firearm when confronted by an employee.
April 3
iPhone robbery: 5:29 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Driftwood Apartments, 1600 W. James Pl. The victim was robbed at gunpoint during a transaction involving the sale of an iPhone.
April 4
Two shooting victims: 11:31 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at 8700 S. 222nd St. Two victims were found and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The incident stemmed from a dispute over a phone sale, leading to the arrest of two suspects with the assistance of the Special Investigations Unit.
April 6
Gun threat: Officers responded to a threat involving a gun at WinCo, 21100 91st Pl. S. A victim reported
being threatened and assaulted during a child exchange. The suspect was located and arrested without
incident after a coordinated search.
April 7
Vape store burglary: 4:48 a.m., officers responded to a burglary at E-Z Store, 26000 Pacific Hwy. S. Suspects used a stolen vehicle to gain entry, stealing vape supplies and cash before fleeing.
