The annual Des Moines Mid-Sound Sailing Social Sailboat Races will kick off 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Des Moines Marina. A social time and prizes will follow the race. The races continue Thursdays through Aug. 14. Proceeds from the events will benefit Easter Seals’ Camp Stand By Me.

Sailboat races start

The annual Des Moines Mid-Sound Sailing Social Sailboat Races will kick off 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Des Moines Marina. A social time and prizes will follow the race. The races continue Thursdays through Aug. 14. Proceeds from the events will benefit Easter Seals’ Camp Stand By Me.

Blood drive on tap

The Kent Chamber of Commerce is having a Policy Makers and Business Leaders meeting from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the chamber office, 524 W. Meeker St., Suite.
