Car removed from Old Fishing Hole in Kent after rolling into water

Owner tells police he’s uncertain why the car began to roll from parking lot but that he wasn’t in it

A car had to be pulled out of the Old Fishing Hole pond near the Green River in Kent after the owner told Kent Police it somehow rolled from the parking lot into the water.

The owner apparently wasn’t inside the car when it rolled Tuesday morning, May 24, said Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner in an email. The Old Fishing Hole is at 24945 Frager Road, just south of West Meeker Street.

“The owner does not know why it began to roll from its parked location,” Kasner sid. “There were no injuries and the owner called for his own tow to have the car removed from the water.”

Puget Sound Fire, Renton Regional Fire Authority, Valley Regional Fire Authority and King County Medic One responded to reports of a car in the water, according to Puget Sound Fire. Divers confirmed nobody was inside the car.

When police officers arrived, the owner was at the scene. The driver was the registered owner of the vehicle, Kasner said.
