Dylan Zylstra and Jaclyn Onosko are the December Rotary Students of the Month, for their accomplishments in athletics.
Both are Kentridge seniors and reside in Renton.
Zylstra is the son of Doug and Belinda Zylstra. He plays football and basketball for Kentridge and is captain of both teams.
His community activities related to athletics include coaching at the Charger basketball camp and playing select AAU basketball.
His other school and community activities include leadership class at Kentridge, as well as being a member of the student advisory council at his church.
After high school, Zylstra said he plans to attend football at the D1 level, but that he’s not certain yet where he is going to school, or his intended major.
Onosko is the daughter of Phil and Beth Onosko.
She has been a participant on the Kentridge volleyball and track teams each for the past four years, in addition to working at “little kids’ camps” in basketball and volleyball for the past four years.
Her other community activities related to athletics include helping to coach and assist a fifth-grade volleyball team, and participating in AAU basketball and track.
Outside of athletics, Onosko is a peer tutor with the Special Chargers at Kentridge.
After graduating from Kentridge, Onosko plans to attending Washington State University, where she hopes to be a walk-on for the track team. She plans to major in engineering or a pursuit related to math.
