Shortly after 8 Sunday night, Kent Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team, Kent Police and King County Medic One responded to a report of a woman floating down the Green River after reportedly jumping from the overpass at Kent-Des Moines Road.
Kent Fire and Police worked together to locate the woman in the river. Kent Police were able to keep spotlights on her in the water as Kent Fire Water Rescue Team members set up to rescue her.
The Water Rescue Team was able to throw her a rope, which she was able to hang onto as the team pulled her to shore. The 22-year-old woman was in the water approximately 20 minutes and had floated about a half mile downstream. The woman was transported to Valley Medical Center by King County Medic One for a medical evaluation.
