A 33-year-old Tacoma woman was killed when she drove the wrong way on State Route 167 in Auburn and collided head on with another vehicle.
Nicole Kord died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Kord was traveling southbound in the northbound HOV lane at about 1:13 a.m. Friday on Highway 167 near 37th Street Northwest, according to the Washington State Patrol. Kord died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Paramedics transported the driver of the second vehicle, a 62-year-old Renton man, to Valley Medical Center in Renton. He was wearing a seat belt.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved, according to the State Patrol.
