A woman was found fatally shot early Tuesday morning, May 9 in an unincorporated part of King County near Kent and Auburn.
At about 12:53 a.m. a man called 911 to report his girlfriend had been shot at South 277th Street and Green River Road South, according to a May 9 email from Sgt. Eric White, public information officer for the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded and found a deceased female at the location, White said.
“There is no suspect information or motive in this shooting,” White said.
White declined to give any other details about the woman or shooting, such as her age, where at the location she was found and whether the boyfriend remained at the scene. He also didn’t say whether she was found near an homeless encampment. The area has attracted many homeless encampments.
“As this is an active investigation there are no other details that can be released at this time,” White said.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the woman once it completes its investigation.
