A woman reportedly bit an officer on the arm after Kent Police responded to a report about people arguing in a parking lot.
Officers responded to a 911 call at about 12:28 a.m. on Nov. 27 about an argument in a parking lot in the 6900 block of South 196th Street, according to the police report.
Police found a woman covered in leaf debris and her clothing soaking wet from head to toe. Officers could smell alcohol on the woman. Two men who were with the woman told police she was drunk from being at a rave and they were trying to get her home when she started to argue with them.
Officers told the woman to sit down, which she did. But the woman then got up and started to walk away. When an officer tried to stop her, she reportedly resisted and bit the officer. Two officers managed to control the woman and handcuffed her.
Police arrested the woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault for biting an officer. Police noted in the report that the woman couldn’t speak coherently because she was so drunk.
Graffiti artists caught
Officers arrested two women and a man for investigation of third-degree malicious mischief after they allegedly spray painted graffiti on a bridge along the Green River Trail near Central Avenue South.
Four officers were on patrol at about 2:09 p.m. on Nov. 29 along the trail looking for transient camps. Residents had complained to police about high foot traffic and possible criminal activity in the area, according to the police report.
Police spotted three people near a bridge and a man had the odor of spray paint coming from him. Officers then noticed freshly painted graffiti on a bridge, a mural with black, white and maroon paint.
The man denied he had used spray paint even though officers saw paint on his hands. He told police he had just looked at the graffiti. One of the women had two cans of white spray paint in her possession. Police noted that all three had spray paint cans, nozzles or latex gloves.
Officers also arrested the man for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia when they found aluminum foil in his wallet. People use the foil to smoke narcotics.
Man spotted in stolen car
Police arrested a man for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle after an officer saw the man driving a stolen car at about 8:08 a.m. on Nov. 26 in the 25200 block of Pacific Highway South on the West Hill.
The officer saw a Honda Accord going northbound on Pacific Highway South that didn’t signal for a turn, according to the police report. When the driver noticed a patrol vehicle behind him, he made a turn against a red light in front of other vehicles to enter the Fred Meyer store parking lot.
The officer ran the license plate of the car and discovered it had been reported stolen out of Tukwila. The driver told officers a friend had loaned him the car. Police noticed the man’s key ring had a shaved key, often used to try to steal cars.
Man steals alcohol from store
Officers arrested a man for investigation of third-degree theft after he allegedly stole two bottles of alcohol on Nov. 26 from a Fred Meyer store, 10201 SE 240th St.
A store loss prevention officer said the man took two bottles from the alcohol aisle, went to the pet aisle and later tried to enter locked dressing rooms, according to the police report. The man next walked over into the men’s apparel aisle and put the bottles in his backpack before he exited the store without paying.
Store security stopped the man outside the store and found a bottle of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and a bottle of Fremont Mischief Rye Whiskey in his backpack. The items were valued at $76.98.
