Volunteers are wanted to help remove blackberry vines from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Soos Creek Park, as well as the trail that runs through Kent, Covington and Renton.
The work group meets at the south end of the trail along 148th Avenue Southeast, just off of Southeast 266th Street, east of Lake Meridian Park.
Volunteers should bring work clothes such as a long-sleeved shirt, heavy work pants, gloves and footwear. They also should bring a shovel and pruning tools. Drinks and snacks are provided.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of Soos Creek, the South King County Group of the Sierra Club and the county parks department.
