The victims in the single-vehicle crash on Wednesday in Kent have been identified as Dmitriy Yegorshin, of Federal Way, and Eduard Kuzmych, of Auburn.
The names were released on Thursday by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Yegorshin, 25, the driver of the vehicle, died at the scene of the accident, just south of the intersection of Southeast Kent Kangley Road and 124th Avenue Southeast.
Paramedics transported Kuzmych, 25, to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he later died.
A passerby noticed a vehicle deep in the woods on the west side of 124th Avenue Southeast and called 911 at about 6:53 a.m., just at daylight, according to Kent Police spokeswoman Melanie Robinson. The exact time of the crash is unknown.
Officers found two men inside a heavily damaged vehicle. An initial investigation shows that alcohol and speed may have been a factor in the accident, according to a police media release.
Kent Police have released no other details.
