Nearly 1,000 people are expected to attend the Valley Medical Center’s 10th annual Joint Center Reunion from 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 8 at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
Officials at the Renton hospital organize the event for patients who have used the Joint Center, which uses the latest technology for joint replacement surgery including computer-assisted surgery, according to a Valley Medical Center media release.
The reunion includes dinner, live jazz guitar and a presentation by Dr. William Barrett, director of the Joint Center. Attendees also will see a slide show of patients from the center cliff jumping, skiing, swimming, playing football and other activities performed after their surgery.
About 15 patients attended the first reunion. That number increased to 200 at the five-year reunion and to 400 last year. The previous events were at the hospital but officials moved the reunion to the ShoWare Center because of the large number of patients who want to attend.
