Valley Medical Center was recognized for outstanding efforts to reduce patient harm and improve patient safety during the 81st Annual Meeting of the Washington State Hospital Association in Seattle on Oct. 16.
VMC earned the 2013 Washington State Hospital Association Safe Care in Action award for its efforts to decrease patient harm in 10 key areas through their participation in the Partnership for Patients national initiative – a nationwide collaborative effort to reduce the number of hospital-acquired conditions by 40 percent and hospital readmissions by 20 percent by the end of 2013.
“Patient safety is our number one priority at Valley, and has been for many years,” said Rich Roodman, CEO, Valley Medical Center. “We are very pleased to have our efforts recognized by our peers, and we will continue to establish best practices in our hospital for the well-being of our patients.”
