Kent School District security and local law enforcement determined a vague social media threat directed toward Kentridge High School, 12430 SE 208th St., late Wednesday night, May 22, was a non-credible threat.
“Because it was determined a non-credible threat, Kentridge High School is open (Thursday) operating on its regular schedule,” according to a post on the Kent School District website. “As an added measure of precaution, there are additional safety officers onsite (Thursday).
“Unfortunately, these types of social media issues are more and more common, and schools are dealing with this nationwide. We appreciate those that made us aware of the post which allowed for a prompt investigation.
“The safety of our students and staff is our first priority in any situation. We thank all who reported this incident and are grateful for local law enforcement who communicated with us and worked to ensure all of our students and staff are safe.”
