Two people were displaced following a house fire Monday morning in the 11000 block of Southeast 204th Street in Kent’s Panther Lake area.
The first 911 calls were received at 9:15 a.m., reporting smoke and flames inside the home, according to a Puget Sound Fire news release.
When firefighters arrived from the Puget Sound and Renton RFAs, they found that the entire front of the single-story house was on fire with smoke coming from the other three sides as well.
Early reports that no one was in the house were confirmed when the occupants were accounted for, though one occupant was sent to a local hospital for an undisclosed issue. Red Cross will assist the occupants.
The fire was initially fought “defensively,” or from the outside, due to dangers of building collapse and the knowledge that no one was inside. It took approximately one hour to fully extinguish the fire.
Puget Sound RFA fire investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
