Two men found with gunshot wounds in Kent, Federal Way

Early Tuesday morning incident

Federal Way Police responded to two unrelated shootings with uncooperative victims in the early morning hours Tuesday, May 4.

Two men with gunshot wounds were found, one in Federal Way the other in Kent. One man said he was shot in Federal Way, but both men refused to offer further information about where and how their injuries occurred, police said.

Around 2 a.m., Federal Way officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road for reports of a shooting. A witness said they could see a man walking through the complex who appeared to be injured, according to Federal Way Police Cmdr. Kurt Schwan.

Officers arrived and contacted a man in his early 30s with apparent gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen. The man was uncooperative and provided false information about how and where the incident had occurred, Schwan said.

The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious, but stable condition.

While investigating this incident, Federal Way officers were contacted by the Kent Police Department and told that around 2:30 a.m., Kent police had located a man in his early 30s near the 600 block of Railroad Avenue South with an apparent gunshot wound to his arm.

The man said he had been shot at the Redondo Heights Park & Ride in the 27600 block of Pacific Highway South in Federal Way. He then refused to provide any additional information and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition, Schwan said.

Officers were able to locate the scene of the shooting at the Redondo Heights Park & Ride. Detectives from Federal Way’s Criminal Investigations Section responded to the parking lot.
