Winds are starting to do damage on Monday afternoon in Kent with trees and power wires down on the East Hill.
Puget Sound Fire responded about 4 p.m. to trees and wires down in the 13500 block of Southeast 268th Street on the East Hill. Fire crews asked Kent Police to assist with blocking traffic at about 4:30 p.m. at 134th Avenue Southeast and SE 268th Street, according to fire reports. Crews are using chainsaws to cut up the tree.
Scattered power outages have hit portions of Kent and Covington, according to Puget Sound Energy.
As of about 5:15 p.m., several areas of the West Hill in Kent were without power, near Pacific Highway South as well as near Lake Fenwick.
