The Everett Silvertips beat the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday night, winning 5-2 at the ShoWare Center.

Everett (36-23-7-2) is one point behind Spokane for the fifth spot in the Western Conference. Seattle is now 39-22-2-4 and holds a two-point lead on Spokane and a three-point lead on Everett for the fourth position.

Taran Kozun was the goalie of choice for Seattle and stopped 23 of 27 shots before being replaced by Danny Mumaugh, who stopped both shots he faced. Kozun took the loss, making his record 18-26-2-2. In net for Everett was Austin Lotz, who stopped 31 of 33 and is now 28-18-3-2.

Shea Theodore and Russell Maxwell scored goals for Seattle.
