Three vehicles go over an embankment near Kent, Auburn

One person sustains minor injuries; four people escape injury

Four people escaped injury and one person sustained minor injuries when three vehicles went over an embankment late Wednesday morning, Feb. 8 in unincorporated King County near Kent and Auburn.

Puget Sound Fire responded at about 11:19 a.m. to the incident at 55th Avenue South and South 272nd Street, according to Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak. Two vehicles and a commercial truck went over the embankment. The truck landed on its top. A guardrail was destroyed.

Four people had no injuries and one person had minor injuries, Pawlak said.

Crews closed 55th Avenue South due to the crash.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what caused the three vehicles to go over the embankment.

A Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said the truck appeared to be a water truck. He said he had no further information or a cause as the crash remains under investigation.
