Teachers from the Kent School District are hosting a meeting for parents tonight at the Kent Regional Library.
The meeting is designed so parents can ask questions of the teachers about the current contract negotiations and what they mean to the children of the district, as well as discuss the potential for a teacher strike.
The parent meeting is scheduled for 5 – 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Kent Regional Library, 212 2nd Avenue N., Kent.
A Kent Education Association member meeting is scheduled for Wednesday. If a contract settlement is not reached, the union will conduct a strike vote.
The first day of school is scheduled for Aug. 31.
