The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired left wing Cory Millette from the Prince Albert Raiders for a conditional sixth-round selection in the 2015 or 2016 Bantam Draft, T-Birds general manager Russ Farwell announced today.
“Cory is an experienced forward in the WHL and is a good addition to our young forward group heading into the last half of the season,” Farwell said. “He has shown a scoring touch in the past and we look forward to him bringing us a veteran presence as well as contribute offensively to our team.”
Millette has played 39 games with Prince Alberta and the Saskatoon Blades and has eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points this season.
Millette, from Storthoaks, Saskatchewan, is 5-foot-10 and 194 pounds and is in his fourth season in the WHL. He has played 206 career games with the Raiders, Blades and Red Deer Rebels and has 44 goals and 48 assists for 92 points and 105 penalty minutes.
The T-Birds have a home-and-home series with the Tri-City Americans this weekend. They travel to Kennewick for a game on Friday at 7:05 p.m. They host the Americans at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at the ShoWare Center. The Sunday game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved because of the Seattle Seahawks’ divisional playoff game.
