The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired right wing Josh Uhrich from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2016 Bantam Draft.

The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired right wing Josh Uhrich from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2016 Bantam Draft.

“Josh plays a physical game and adds enthusiasm as well as experience,” said T-Birds general manager Russ Farwell. “He is a 19-year-old with experience in the league and will be a good addition for our team as we head into the second half of the season.”

This season Uhrich has four goals and three assists for seven points in 27 games with the Blades. Uhrich has appeared in 225 games over four seasons in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors and the Blades and has 24 goals and 31 assists for 55 points with 310 penalty minutes.

The T-Birds travel to Spokane to play the Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. They have back-to-back home games this coming weekend. They play Chiefs at the ShoWare Center at 7:35 p.m. Friday and the Everett Silvertips at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
