T-Birds fall to Silvertips, 2-1

The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 Friday night in front of 5,035 at ShoWare Center.

The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 Friday night in front of 5,035 at ShoWare Center.

This was the first game of a home-and-home series between the two teams. They meet again Saturday night at Comcast Arena in Everett at 7:05.

Seattle (16-18-1-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 7:34 of the first period. Taylor Green got the puck into the Everett zone where Connor Honey chased it down in the left circle. Honey crossed the puck across the zone to Alexander Delnov coming down the slot. Delnov controlled the pass with his right skate, brought the puck to his backhand and slid it under Everett goalie Austin Lotz for his 12th goal of the season.

The Thunderbirds outshot the Silvertips 14-11 in the first period.

Everett (13-22-0-2) tied the game 1-1 at 4:56 of the second period when Carson Stadnyk scored. Nick Walters and Ryan Harrison had the assists.

Seattle led in shots, 22-21, after two periods.

The Silvertips went in front 2-1 at 10:53 of the third period when Kohl Bauml scored. Harrison had the only assist on the goal.

The T-Birds outshot the Silvertips 39-30 in the game.

Seattle goalie Brandon Glover stopped 28 of 30 shots and his record is now 15-14-1-1.

Everett goalie Austin Lotz made 38 saves on 39 shots and his record is now 6-12-0-1.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2012-13 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.

T-Birds season tickets are on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825.
