T-Birds’ Eansor chosen to U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp

USA Hockey has invited Seattle Thunderbirds center Scott Eansor to the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp Aug. 1-8 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

USA Hockey has invited Seattle Thunderbirds center Scott Eansor to the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp Aug. 1-8 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Eansor, one of 39 players invited to the camp, will compete for a spot on the U.S. National Junior team that will play in the 2016 World Junior Championship Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Helsinki, Finland.

Eansor, in his second season with the T-Birds last year, had 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 72 games. In two seasons, Eansor has 17 goals and 32 assists for 49 points in 124 games.

The invited players will practice and compete in international games against Finland and Sweden. The U.S. has won medals in three of the last six World games, including gold in 2013 and 2010 and bronze in 2011.

Next season

The Thunderbirds’ home opener for the 2015-16 season is Saturday, Oct. 3, against the Prince George Cougars. Face-off is 7:05 p.m. at ShoWare Center.

T-Birds single game tickets for the home opener will go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 26. Fans will be able to purchase single game tickets online or at the ShoWare Center box office.
