Five employees were examined by the Kent Fire Department and two were sent to a local hospital as a precaution after they complained of a strange smell inside a north Kent business at 10:52 a.m. Thursday in the 6300 block of South 199th Place.
Two people were sent to a hospital for various symptoms and three people declined aid, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.
The Kent Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Response Team took air samples after evacuating the building but was unable to find anything unusual or pinpoint the source of the problem.
Employees were allowed back into the building at about noon. The business works with plastic films and adhesives, according to fire officials.
A company was brought in to examine the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system at the business for malfunctions.
