State Rep. Pat Sullivan, D-Covington, will be a guest at a Kent Seniors United meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at the Golden Steer Steak ‘n Rib House, 23826 104th Ave. SE.
Kent Seniors United is a new group formed earlier this year to try to get the city of Kent to freeze property taxes for senior citizens. Sullivan, the majority leader of the House, will answer questions from residents about property taxes.
The group has had three meetings so far and plans to eventually submit a petition to the City Council to freeze property taxes. A total of about 150 people have attended the meetings, which are open to all residents.
“The petition drive is going well,” said Dale Brantner, a Kent resident who organized the group.
