The state Liquor Control Board will issue its first recreational marijuana producer/processor license on Wednesday morning during its regularly scheduled meeting in Olympia.
The board made the announcement in a Tuesday media release. It didn’t reveal the name or location of the state’s first producer/processor licensee but said the person would be present at the meeting.
The board is expected to issue a number of producer/processor licenses in the next few weeks. It will issue retail licenses later this year. The first stores are expected to open in June.
The agency received 2,858 marijuana producer applications.
