The Washington State Patrol is looking for help to find the victim or victims of a drive-by shooting that occurred at about 3 a.m. Dec. 11 on northbound Interstate 405 near State Route 167.
Troopers arrested a 25-year-old Maple Valley man Dec. 16 for investigation of drive-by shooting and attempt to elude an officer in connection with shots that were fired at another car, according to a Dec. 17 State Patrol media release.
A trooper on Dec. 11 observed two vehicles, a blue Dodge Neon and a mid to late 1980s sedan, driving in an aggressive manner on northbound I-405.
The Maple Valley man, the driver of the Neon, reportedly shot several times at the unidentified sedan. The trooper pursued the Neon and reportedly saw the driver throw a gun out of the window. Troopers later recovered the gun.
Troopers continued to pursue the Neon, whose driver lost control on a Kent side street. The driver fled on foot and troopers were unable to find him.
Detectives contacted the Maple Valley man by phone and he turned himself in Dec. 16. He remained in custody Dec. 17 at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.
