For the Reporter
Contractor crews tasked with replacing a 30-year-old corroded utility pipe need one more night to complete the work. They will close the northbound State Route 167 on-ramp to northbound I-405 from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Traffic will be detoured to southbound I-405 to Exit 1 and then back to northbound I-405.
The work is part of the I-405/SR 167 Major Drainage Repair project.
Last weekend, crews dug 12 feet under the roadway and decommissioned the failing metal drainage pipe. All but 25 feet of the new, heavy-duty rubberized plastic pipe was installed. Tonight’s work includes attaching the last section of pipe, paving and striping the ramp.
