A single-engine small plane crashed Monday into Lake Morton in unincorporated King County, southeast of Kent and Covington.
Two men and one woman kayaked out to rescue the pilot, a 19-year-old man in the single-occupant aircraft, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office. The man was conscious and rescuers brought him to shore. Paramedics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was in stable condition.
Witnesses saw a plane with no engine crash into the middle of the lake, according to a tweet at about 12:20 p.m. from the Sheriff”s Office. The engine was having issues and cut off prior to the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
