Kent Police arrested a 19-year-old Covington man for investigation of vehicular homicide after his vehicle left Lake Fenwick Road, collided with a tree and power pole and killed his passenger.
The single-vehicle crash was at about 4:22 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29in the 26400 block of Lake Fenwick Road on the West Hill.
“The initial stages of the investigation revealed that the suspect was (reportedly) intoxicated and speeding on Lake Fenwick Road,” according to a Dec. 29 Kent Police news release.
An 18-year-old SeaTac man died in the crash, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of a crash and found the Covington man standing near the vehicle. They discovered a passenger severely injured and trapped inside the vehicle. Puget Sound Fire firefighters extricated the man from the vehicle, but he died at the scene.
The Covington man received medical aid at the scene and then was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide, according to police.
