Assault
A domestic dispute broke out 10:06 p.m. March 31 at an apartment in the 24900 block of 103rd Avenue Southeast, after a woman became upset at her boyfriend for hanging up a phone on her.
When the woman arrived home, she told the boyfriend to pack his things and leave. She reportedly grabbed one of his shirts and cut it up with scissors.
A fight broke out at the home and police arrested the man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly hit the woman, put her in a choke hold and threw her to the ground, according to the police report.
Police observed the woman had a cut on her hand, a red mark on her neck and scrapes on her shoulder and chest.
Theft
Police arrested a man for investigation of theft April 2, after store security reported seeing him take a backpack and several cleaning items from a store in the 25200 block of Pacific Highway South.
Security workers stopped the man outside the store after he had been observed taking the backpack and putting items inside of it and then walking out of the store with no attempt to pay for the backpack or items, according to the police report.
Police arrested the man for theft charges and possession of drug paraphernalia after store security found a crack pipe on the man.
The man told police he had no money and needed the cleaning items to clean his apartment.
Drugs
Police pulled over the driver of a vehicle at 11 p.m. April 1 in the 5800 block of South 240th Street because the car only had its running lights activated. When the officer walked up to the car, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana.
The driver told police he had a pipe and had just taken a smoke before he noticed the officer’s vehicle, according to the police report.
Police arrested the man for investigation of possession of marijuana and possession of drug-paraphernalia.
