Separate fires struck three East Hill houses in Kent over the weekend, with a neighbor pounding on a door to alert residents in one of the homes.
Nobody was injured in any of the fires and the fires were not connected, said Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak in an Aug. 6 email.
Neighbor alerts residents
Firefighters were dispatched at about 6:25 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 to a house in the 24300 block of 138th Avenue SE.
Firefighters arrived and found a large amount of fire on the exterior of the house and smoke coming from the eaves, Pawlak said. It took firefighters over an hour to extinguish the fire. A neighbor noticed the fire and pounded on the door to alert the residents of the fire on the deck.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross assisted the family with emergency needs. Renton Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One and the Zone 3 Fire Cadets also responded.
Deck, attic fire
Firefighters responded at about 4:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 to a house fire in the 22800 block of 106th Place SE.
Firefighters arrived at the single-story house, finding fire on the back deck and in the attic area, Pawlak said. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Renton Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One and the Zone 3 Fire Cadets also responded.
Six vehicles burned
Firefighters responded just after 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 to a shed fire in the 26500 block of 108th Avenue SE.
The fire had spread from a 20-foot by 20-foot shed to six vehicles parked nearby as well as the house, Pawlak said. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 60 minutes. The residents were not home at the time of the fire.
The American Red Cross assisted the family with immediate emergency needs. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Valley Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One, the Zone 3 Fire Cadets and Kent Police also responded.
