A 15-year-old SeaTac girl charged with murder for allegedly using a car to hit a Maple Valley jogger in July, may be responsible for hitting a second pedestrian around the same date.
“Through their work, King County detectives identified evidence that the same juvenile suspect may be responsible for at least one additional felony, pedestrian hit-and-run that occurred somewhere near Des Moines or SeaTac on, or before, July 17,” according to a Monday, Sept. 20 King County Sheriff’s Office press release.
King County prosecutors charged the girl with second-degree murder and hit-and-run for reportedly killing Gregory Moore, 53, of Maple Valley, on July 18 near Maple Valley. Moore was struck early in the morning and found later in the morning dead in a ditch in the 23800 block of Southeast 216th Street.
A white man, whose photo image was released by the Sheriff’s Office, is believed to have been struck by the same gray Toyota Camry one or two days before Moore’s death.
“It is likely this man sustained serious injuries or lacerations after being struck by the passenger-side of the sedan,” according to the Sheriff’s Office. “His identity and whereabouts remain unknown to detectives as they continue their work in this open and active investigation.”
Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the man.
“As a community we can honor Greg’s memory by identifying and delivering justice for this man, who we believe was harmed by yet another senseless, criminal act,” said King County Sheriff Mitzi G. Johanknecht.
Anyone who can identify this man are asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line (206-296-3311) and reference case C21022337.

The Sheriff’s Office declined to say how they compiled the photo images of the man they believe was hit in Des Moines or SeaTac.
“Those images were a product of our investigation into the fatal hit-and-run of Greg Moore,” said Sgt. Tim Meyer, media relations officer for the Sheriff’s Office. “To protect this open and active case we are not providing any additional information on the origin of the photos.”
