A 24-year-old woman and her unborn child were killed in a car crash on State Route 169, east of Renton shortly before noon Monday, according to Washington State Patrol.
Marina Simons, of Kent, died after her southbound Honda Accord collided with a Nissan Altima driven by 34-year-old Darcy Grager of Maple Valley.
According to State Patrol, Simons’ car drifted right, struck a sign and then careened into the northbound lane where it collided head on with Grager’s car.
Simons and her unborn baby were pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Grager was injured and transported to Harborview.
An 18-month-old girl in Grager’s car was uninjured.
Both drivers wore seatbelts.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
