A man and a woman killed in separate vehicle-pedestrian incidents last week have been identified.
Elizabeth A. Williams, 29, of Kent, died when she was hit Dec. 19 while in a lane along State Route 516 near Military Road South, according to the Washington State Patrol. A 60-year-old SeaTac man was driving a pickup truck eastbound on SR 516 when he struck Williams at about 3:42 a.m.
On Dec. 17, a driver of a vehicle struck and killed Thomas Duran, 58, of Auburn, at about 6:20 p.m. in the 23500 block of 104th Avenue Southeast on the East Hill, according to Kent Police.
Puget Sound Fire personnel and medics arrived and provided aid to Duran, but life-saving efforts were not successful.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old Kent man, stopped and stayed on scene, police said. The preliminary evidence showed the driver of the vehicle was following the speed limit and did not appear to be under the influence of any alcohol or drugs, police said.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
