A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian who reportedly was crossing outside of a crosswalk at about 6:04 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 near the intersection of 68th Avenue South and South 212th Street.
Wesley Sydney Hall, 62, died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office Dec. 3 media report.
Officers, Puget Sound Fire firefighters and medics were dispatched after multiple witnesses called 911 to report a pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle, according to a Nov. 30 Kent Police news release.
Officers arrived and located Hall unconscious in the roadway. Despite immediate medical assistance, he did not survive his injuries.
Several witnesses were interviewed, and the initial information gathered indicates that Hall was struck by a single vehicle while crossing outside of the crosswalk, according to police. The driver of the involved vehicle, a 46-year-old Eatonville man, stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
The Kent Police Traffic Unit was called to the scene to conduct the investigation. The unit collected evidence and statements to determine the circumstances that led up to the collision. It does not appear that driver intoxication was a contributing factor, according to police.
