Early Monday morning near Kent Des Moines Road; police seek truck driver for vehicular homicide

A truck driver hit and killed a pedestrian early Monday morning, Jan. 3, near the intersection of Pacific Highway South and Kent Des Moines Road in Des Moines.

The driver fled the scene and is being sought for investigation of vehicular homicide, according to a Des Moines Police news release.

Officers were dispatched at about 7:28 a.m. to a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident. Officers found a man unconscious on the roadway of northbound Pacific Highway South. Life-saving efforts were attempted, but the man died at the scene.
