Visitors and residents are wanted to walk their pet in the first Pampered Pet Walk, from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, in downtown Kent.
The Kent Downtown Partnership is sponsoring the walk to celebrate a more urban lifestyle in downtown, and to give pets the opportunity to get to know their pet neighbors as well.
The group welcomes more pets to historic downtown as it plans to create more pet-friendly events.
Registration is at Down Home Catering, 211 First Ave. S. The walk will start at Down Home Catering and end at Kherson Park, at the corner of Second Avenue and Gowe Street.
The theme for this pet walk is “sports” and it isn’t just about the Seattle Seahawks. It’s any sport, such as gymnastics, dance, polo, cheerleading, etc. How about a referee?
Contest for best costumes in three categories: Small, medium and large pet. Contest for best trick: Tricks have to be within a 4 feet by 4 feet area because of limited space.
