Kent teen charged with murder in shooting death of another teen

King County prosecutors filed a first-degree murder charge Friday against a 15-year-old Kent teenage boy in connection with the Oct. 30 shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in the Boulevard Park neighborhood, south of Seattle. They also filed a first-degree robbery charge that day against a second 15-year-old Kent boy in connection with the shooting death.

A 16-year-old girl lost control of her car and drove it off the Green River Road into the swollen, swift moving waters of the Green River just north of the Auburn Municipal Golf Course on Friday morning. Two boys, ages 2 and 13, were in the car at the time and remained missing as of 1 p.m.

What is happening at the King County Elections Office in Renton today began in 2004, in the wake of a highly controversial governor's election that sparked hundreds of reforms in how the county runs elections. Democrat Christine Gregoire won that election by just 129 votes – statewide – after recounts and court rulings. Her opponent: Dino Rossi.

Cottage-style housing could be coming soon to Kent despite a 4-3 vote by the City Council on Oct. 21 against a proposed ordinance that would allow developers to build as many as two housing-demonstration projects.
