A King County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed a 25-year-old man in the parking lot of a Burien apartment complex Sunday, April 17, following a high speed car chase. The man's address on his car registration is in Covington.

Two Kent residents were displaced from their home today when a fire started in their apartment, located in the 25100 block of 97 Pl. S.
No one was in the apartment when the fire was reported at 6:32 p.m.. The two residents are being cared for by family. The apartment directly above the fire apartment was evacuated initially as a precaution. Those residents were allowed to return after a short period of time. That apartment did not sustain any damage. There were no reports of any injuries.
Kent City Councilman Les Thomas has decided to throw his hat in the political ring for a third term.
