Taken near Kentridge High School; chase ends at I-90 and Highway 18

A 38-year-old woman reportedly stole a Kent Police SUV near Kentridge High School and sped away before she was taken into custody near Highway 18 and Interstate 90.

Officers at about 2:30 a.m. Friday were contacting a man with an arrest warrant in the 12400 block of Southeast 208th Street behind Kentridge, according to Kent Police. A woman was with the man and both fled on foot.

While officers were taking the man into custody, the woman jumped into a police SUV and sped away.

Police activated the automated vehicle locator that showed the patrol vehicle heading east on I-90. Officers relayed the stolen patrol car information to surrounding agencies. The Washington State Patrol helped take the woman into custody.

The vehicle had damage to the right front, but all of the equipment inside the vehicle was secure and accounted for, police said.

Nobody was injured during the pursuit.
