King County Sheriff’s Office deputies and other law enforcement agencies responded at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 to Kentlake High School after an anonymous call from someone stating they would come to the school to commit acts of violence.
“Deputies responded promptly to the school, which was put into lockdown,” said Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Zoe Birkbeck in an email. “With the support of surrounding agencies, a comprehensive search of the school was conducted, and nothing was found.”
Deputies told school officials at about 1:15 p.m. that they could lift the lockdown at their discretion, Birkbek said.
Detectives will continue to investigate the call in an effort to find the caller.
Kentlake is at 21401 SE Falcon Way in unincorporated King County, with a Kent address but east of the city limits.
