Northwest Kidney Centers, a nonprofit outpatient dialysis provider with clinics in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Clallam counties, has broken ground on its newest clinic in the Panther Lake area of Kent.
The clinic will be built at 10821 SE 204th St., just north of the Panther Lake Library, and is anticipated to open in spring 2023, according to a March 8 Northwest Kidney Center news release.
“We’re honored to join the Panther Lake community and to extend our high-quality dialysis care to south King County, where there is real need,” said Rebecca Fox, president and CEO of Northwest Kidney Centers. “More people will gain access to life-sustaining dialysis treatments and the full suite of services we offer to improve the lives of those impacted by kidney disease.”
The clinic will have 11 dialysis stations and be able to accommodate approximately 66 patients three times a week for blood-cleansing treatments that take about four hours each time.
Designed by Mahlum Architects, which has offices in Seattle and Portland, the clinic and support space will total 9,473 square feet and include room for future expansion. Bothell-based Aldrich + Associates is the general contractor.
Kent has one other Northwest Kidney Center at 25316 74th Ave. S. Other centers in neighboring cities to Kent include Auburn, Federal Way, SeaTac and Renton.
Northwest Kidney Centers is a regional, not-for-profit, community-based provider of kidney dialysis, public health education and research into the causes and treatments of chronic kidney disease. Founded in Seattle in 1962, it was the world’s first dialysis organization.
