High school students now have an opportunity to experience life as an attorney in the courtroom.
Local Kent attorney Lisa Voso is organizing a mock trial team to represent the district. Other members of the local legal community are also invited to participate in the National High School Mock Trial program.
Since 1984, the National High School Mock Trial program has not only provided students with the experience of preparing and presenting a case before a judge, but also developed students’ teamwork and critical thinking skills.
Beginning in November, students interested in the program will study their cases and make preparations for a mock trial. They will learn about courtroom procedures, as well as how to properly question witnesses and develop opening and closing arguments.
Competition begins in February with the opportunity of advancing to the state and national levels. For more information, contact Voso at lisa@vosolaw.com.
