A 48-year-old Maple Valley woman fatally shot July 27 in Kent has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Amy Dyke died from multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide, according to an Aug. 3 medical examiner’s report.
Dyke was shot in the 11100 block of SE 240th Street, according to Kent Police. Paramedics transported her to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, including a gunshot wound to the head. She died the next day.
Police said it was not a random incident.
Officers responded at about 1:52 a.m. to 114th Way SE and SE 230th Place in response to a 911 call of a shooting, according to police. The 911 caller said her friend had been shot and they were starting CPR. Officers were advised that the woman was in the caller’s vehicle and they were driving around to seek help. The women were about a mile from the shooting location.
Officers arrived within minutes and found Dyke inside the vehicle, which was now parked. Officers removed her from the vehicle to provide aid, according to police. Puget Sound Fire personnel and medics arrived and began lifesaving measures.
Police determined the shooting was in the 11100 block of SE 240th Street. The location is just south of the Phoenix Court Apartments, where multiple shootings have occurred this year, including two fatal shootings, one on Feb. 11 and the other on July 15.
The suspects were described as three males ages 17 to 25 wearing dark clothing. One male was wearing gray sweats.
As of Aug. 3, police have not reported any arrests.

Lyndsey Dyke, 18, of Auburn, the daughter of Amy Dyke, started a GoFundMe page to help pay for a funeral and help the family start their lives over. Lyndsey Dyke has two brothers, Ethan, 21, and Derrik, 27. She said the family has experienced homelessness for eight years.
“Our mother was a very kind, loving, strong woman that always wanted to put others before herself,” Lyndsey Dyke said on the GoFundMe page. “And even though she is gone all she would want is to see us happy and living together again.”
