Kent Police are asking for help to find a suspect who shot and injured a 25-year-old man Christmas morning on the West Hill.
Officers responded at about 5:45 a.m. Dec. 25 to a report of an illegal discharge in the 24400 block of Pacific Highway South, according to a Kent Police statement. Officers found a man in the roadway with gunshot wounds. Police and medics stabilized the man. Paramedics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A person with a gun reportedly chased the man. Gunshots were heard and reported to 911. It does not appear to be a random act of violence and the victim may have been the intended focus, according to police.
The man was found just south of Lowe’s and Dick’s Drive-In.
Police have not made an arrest and have limited suspect information. Detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information to call the police tip line at 253-856-5808 and reference case number 20-16135.
